Christmas is lurking around the corner. Holidays are being planned, staff functions are being organised, there’s the Christmas party at work. But hang on a minute, what about the clients?
Let’s get your Christmas newsletter sorted first, then you can get back to planning for the festive season.
Nurturing client relationships
Sending a Christmas newsletter to your clients, subscribers and others is a fantastic way to nurturing the business relationship. To get your creative juices flowing, I’ve come up with a few ideas for the content of that year-end, Christmas newsletter.
1. Thanking your clients
Give your clients, subscribers et al, something special, something of value to them, by way of a thank-you. The gift being that they would usually have to fill in a form to access or even pay money for. Examples include a downloadable e-book, cheat sheets, check lists, white papers, a podcast, videos, limited access to… Make it free of charge and with no forms to fill in.
Lack a suitable gift or freebie? Not to worry, there are a few other things that you can do to strength the business relationship you have with your clients.
2. Season’s Greetings
Include a message wishing clients for a great Christmas and New Year.
3. News of interest
Update the client of anything new and/or of recent staff achievements.
4. A review of the year gone past and of the future
The end of the year, is an excellent time for a business to look back over the last 12 months and to communicate the firm’s successes. It is also logical then to move on to your intensions for the future (but don’t get too specific as there's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip).
5. Open for business
Include your days and open hours over the Christmas period. If it’s a limited service of full-service.
6. Value add suggestion
Include an article or even just a “couple of paragraphs” giving a tip or two that will improve your clients’ ability to do business (and help position the firm as an expert in its chosen field of work).
As long as your newsletter is relevant and interesting, people will be delighted to receive future editions.
